In general, this methodology allows working with any number of regions. This computational model consists of three parts (regions). We consider following regions:
stator is static part of the model, fluid is flowing over stator blade
rotor is rotational part of the model, fluid is flowing over rotor blade
solid is solid part of the model, rotor blade, no flow, only temperature equation is solved, can be switched off to run just fluid flow simulation with adiabatic walls

During simulation, each region is computed individually and communicates with other regions through special boundary conditions.
