New TCAE 24.03 Release Information
Here’s the lowdown on what’s new in TCAE 24.03:
General Improvements:
- Python Power-Up: ๐ป We’ve revamped the syntax highlighting in the Python editor to make your scripts more readable. Plus, we’ve added pip for seamless package management.
- No More Spam: ๐ Say goodbye to unnecessary output messages cluttering up your screen. We’ve suppressed the output message spam so you can focus on what really matters.
- Render View Fixes: ๐ผ๏ธ Thanks to the new Qt version, we’ve fixed some bugs in the render view to ensure a smoother experience.
- Paraview Integration: ๐ Now you can harness the power of the Paraview Python interface in your own scripts for enhanced post-processing capabilities.
- Script Descriptions: ๐ Wondering what your script is doing? We’ve got you covered! Script descriptions are now written out in the output when the script is run.
- Cross-Platform Compatibility: ๐ Linking OpenFOAM libraries has been revamped, making Windows <=> Linux project compatibility a breeze.
- Setup Clarity: ๐ง We’ve made sure that check setup returns clearer messages in the output, so you know exactly what’s going on.
- GUI Enhancements: ๐จ Tooltips in the GUI about imported or created files have been reworked for better clarity. Plus, license info has been added to the report footer for a more professional touch. GUI buttons now gray out when they’re unusable, and project rewrite due to backward compatibility happens only after explicitly approving it in a pop-up window.
TMESH Tweaks:
- Mesh Mastery: ๐ Check mesh has become even more robust, and mesh preProcess can now run in parallel for extra efficiency. The mesh details table in the report has been redesigned for better readability.
- Progress Bug Fixes: ๐ We’ve ironed out some bugs in the tmesh progress for a smoother experience.
TCFD Upgrades:
- Boundary Brilliance: ๐ We’ve added checks to ensure internal points stay within the bounding box and enabled browsing speedline tabs during calculation for increased efficiency. Turbulence settings are now disabled when the model is laminar, and convergence checks can be turned off specifically for transient simulations.
- Pressure Precision: ๐จ We’ve reworked pressure units for better accuracy and added new checks to ensure your setup is on point.
- Velocity and Pressure Units: ๐ฌ๏ธ Say hello to new velocity units (fps, mph), and pressure unit for bounding rework – input always in Pascals subsequent conversion to kinematic pressure is done by TCAE.
TCAA Advancements:
- Observer Options: ๐ Now you can add an observer group with multiple observers defined by coordinates in a CSV file or as a circular distribution around the source for polar plot graphs in the report. Plus, the ability to add probes in tcaa simulation has been introduced.
- Sound Reconstruction Fixes: ๐ We’ve addressed some bugs in sound reconstruction for a more accurate representation.
TOPT Improvements:
- Baseline Brilliance: ๐ You can now run a baseline before the rest of the optimization, and opt for optimization runs without DOE for DIRECT algorithm.
- Efficiency Enhancements: ๐ Report generation now runs parallel with calculations for more effectiveness, and the responsiveness of the GUI during TOPT run has been improved.
- Warnings and Fixes: โ ๏ธ We’ve added warnings for possible problems in TOPT setup and made various algorithm and optimization parameter fixes for smoother performance.
