Hardware Configurations for CFD

Hi,
many people keep asking us to recommend some suitable hardware configurations for their CFD simulations.

We’ve decided to bring four reasonable hardware configurations we would like to recommend you for your CFD:

1.  PC 1

1 CPU – Intel Xeon E5-16XX, 8 cores, 64 GB ram, GPU, 2x HDD
Hardware price level: $3,100

2.  PC 2

2 CPU – Intel Xeon E5-26XX, 24 CPU, 128 GB ram, GPU, 2x HDD
Hardware price level: $7,100

3.  SERVER 1

2 x 2 CPU – Intel Xeon E5-26XX, 48 CPU, 256 GB ram, 2×2 HDD
Hardware price level: $14,100

4.  SERVER 2

4 x 2 CPU – Intel Xeon E5-26XX, 96 CPU, 512 GB ram, 4×2 HDD, infiniband
Hardware price level:  $37,000

And yes, here at CFD Support we have all of these four computers.
Feel free to ask us about the performance, our experiences and advice.

CFD Support Delivers Hardware to ZVVZ

In the recent past, CFD Support delivered special HPC cluster to ZVVZ MACHINERY
ZVVZ MACHINERY is well known Czech developer and producer of big fans for all kinds of industry.
From now the ZVVZ engineers can benefit from fully installed and well tested 96 cores super computer to scale their CFD simulations.

New Versions Coming Soon:

CFD Support is soon to introduce new versions of its CFD software products. As always there will be many new features. All the new versions are based on OpenFOAM-3.0.x.

We are already finishing latest tests of following new versions:

All the new product versions are to be released still in Q2 2016.

Distance OpenFOAM® training

The Distance OpenFOAM Training is always individual.
The training materials are in PDF files – you can come back anytime, that gives the training a permanent value
Distance training benefits summary:

  • Save costs and time on traveling
  • You are the director of the training. We are prompt and flexible
  • Take your time (from your home or from your office)
  • We support native compilation of OpenFOAM in Windows. (No virtual boxes.)
  • Price
  • A package of technical support is included and participant himself decides how to spend it: calls, lecturing, emailing or even project work
  • Spend the support hours on the topic you are interested in

Accelerate your OpenFOAM cases on GPU with SpeedIT Flow

SpeedIT Flow is one of the fastest CFD implicit, single-phase flow solver currently on the market. In contrary to other solutions a Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations (SIMPLE) and the Pressure Implicit with Operator Splitting (PISO) algorithms have been completely implemented on graphics processing unit (GPU). Its main features include:

  • High acceleration rates – faster time-to-solution compared to CPU only runs.

  • Faster time to market – can solve more simulations in the same time.

  • OpenFOAM(TM) support. Run your reader and writer (results can be visualized with ParaView software).

  • Run it from your command line:
    gsimple <path to your case>
    gpiso <path to your case>

See the Performance reports made in collaboration with UberCloud and IBM.
